Mostly ca. 1920-1961. Includes literary manuscripts (mostly 1940 and later), background materials collected for writings, correspondence (incl. family, personal, literary, business, fan mail), transcripts of interviews with family and associates, scrapbooks, clippings, some juvenilia. The manuscripts files are especially rich for The white deer, The wonderful O, The Thurber album, The beast in me, and Thurber country.
